Winner of the Teesside Region – Newcomer of the Year Award

Following on from our success at the Best New Business Awards, we were extremely pleased to hear that we had been nominated for two categories at this year’s North East Business Awards Teesside Region.  We had entered and been shortlisted for the Newcomer of the Year and the Small Business Award.

Newcomer of the Year Award

The awards evening, which took place at Teesside University saw us win the Newcomer of the Year and placed as runner-up in the Small Business Award, a fantastic achievement considering we had only been trading for eight months when we entered.

Alastair MacColl, Chief Exec of Business & Enterprise North East commented, “These awards have become an integral part of the North East business calendar, highlighting the strength, ambition and deversity of businesses in the North East.  They are a fantastic opportunity to remind the rest of the world that the North East of England is a great place to do business.

TPE commissioned to make SSI ceremonial key holder

The Ceremonial key holder, made by Teesside Precision Engineering, used in the handover to new owners SSI

What an honour……

In what must be one of our highlights since starting the company we were commissioned to make a holder for the ceremonial key which will be used to    re-start the blast furnace at the Redcar plant and was used to symbolise the handover to Thai company SSI.

The sale signifies a new beginning for one of the North East’s great industries which will safeguard jobs and create new opportunities in the local area.

The deal is a fantastic opportunity for many companies on Teesside to support SSI and work with them in the future.
